What Class 19 does NOT protect

These look similar but belong to another class. Choosing wrong is the most common reason a trademark protects less than its owner believes.

The most expensive mistake in Class 19

Class 19 protects the material you build with, as long as it is not metal. What treats or protects that material belongs elsewhere: cement waterproofing is class 1, wood preservative class 2 and moisture insulation class 17. Timber enters class 19 only once sawn; unsawn it is class 31. A finishes brand should also check class 27, where coverings laid over an existing floor belong.
