What Class 17 protects

What Class 17 does NOT protect

These look similar but belong to another class. Choosing wrong is the most common reason a trademark protects less than its owner believes.

The most expensive mistake in Class 17

Class 17 is the class of the semi-processed material, not of the end product. Rubber and plastic stay in class 17 while they are sheet, flexible tube or gasket, but the eraser is class 16, dental rubber class 5 and the fire hose class 9. The most frequent confusion is in pipes: flexible is class 17, rigid metal is class 6 and rigid non-metal is class 19.
